World Alzheimer’s Day is a day for everyone to think about brain health

On World Alzheimer’s Day — 21st September every year — I had the pleasure of speaking with Carla Bignasca on 4BC radio about the most important things we can do to reduce our risk of developing dementia. More and more research is showing that that the way we live our lives is the most critical factor influencing brain health. Most importantly, it’s never too early, and never too late, to start making positive, life-enhancing choices.

Photo credit: I took this photo in the Wawel Royal Palace gardens in Krakow Poland, where I attended the Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI) Conference in April this year. The reason I chose this picture for today’s Health-e-Byte is because adventure, overseas travel, learning new things, stimulating our senses, and enjoying nature, all boost our brain.
